Steve has been teaching since 2007 and is currently in a mid-level leadership position. Through studying his Masters of Education (Leadership and Management) in 2017 and 2018, Steve encountered for the first time secular postmodern philosophy. This led to his desire to explore Christianity at an intellectual level and was the catalyst for his journey from quiet Christian to outspoken advocate for the Christian faith. Delivering regular devotions at his church, his other qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in music and performing arts and a post-graduate diploma in teaching.

Like many apolitical Christians, Steve has never taken an interest in politics until recently, when the suppression of religious freedom became more prevalent in the social, cultural, and political spheres. Written in Section 116 of the Australian Constitution is that the Commonwealth shall not a) establish a religion, b) impose a religious observance, or c) prevent the free exercise of religion, yet despite this Christianity is at significant risk of being completely silenced.

Christianity Out Loud desires to ensure this does not occur in Australia’s public square. If you are exploring faith, hopefully you will be brought closer to understanding the teachings and person of Jesus Christ. If you have recently begun a faith journey, hopefully your faith, knowledge and sense of wonder can be increased. If you are long into your walk, I hope you will continue preaching the good news. Steve’s approach is part apologetic, part philosophical, relevant to current events, and the positive reception of his devotions lead to the publication of his first book Bread of Life; The Simple Gospel.
